Wollastonite to Improve Fire Properties in Medium-Density Fiberboard Made from Wood and Chicken Feather Fibers

چکیده

Poultry is a crucial global protein source. However, processing creates sizable quantities of feathers as by-product. Identifying suitable uses for these poses major challenge. One possible use would be an extender in medium density fiberboards (MDF). At the same time, might also modify inherent fire resistance resulting panels, suggesting need additives to enhance performance. The potential using supplement wood MDF panels was evaluated conjunction with addition wollastonite. effects 5% or 10% without wollastonite were investigated. Adding did affect properties. However, simultaneous resulted improved performance properties and increased ability dissipate heat. results suggest that could resource extending timber supplies production, especially improve

The effect of press temperature on properties of medium density fiberboard produced from Eucalyptus camaldulensis fibers

The target of this study was to investigate the possibility of MDF productionfrom Eucalyptus camaldulensis wood. MDF fibers were produced applying threelevels of steaming time. Laboratory MDF boards were produced using thegenerated fibers and different pressing temperature and time. Physical andmechanical properties of MDF panels were measured using relevant EU testmethods and were statisticall...

Effects of Nano-wollastonite on Physical and Mechanical Properties of Medium-density Fiberboard

Effects of nano-wollastonite (NW) on physical and mechanical properties of medium density fiberboard (MDF) were studied. NW was applied at 5, 10, 15, and 20 g/kg dry weight basis of wood fibers; the results were then compared with control specimens. Two application methods of NW were used: surface and internal applications. Density was kept constant at 0,67 g/cm3 for all treatments and tests we...

Preparation of Medium Density Fiberboard from Wood Fibers Catalytically Oxidized by Laccase-Mediator System

Laccase, an enzyme capable of degrading lignin, has become an effective agent for green processing and has great significance for the protection of the environment and the development of a low-carbon economy. In this work, wood fibers were selected as the raw material, and with activation by a laccase-mediator system, lignin was changed to a natural adhesive material, and the high temperature/h...

investigation on physical and mechanical properties of medium density fiberboard (mdf) made from acacia salicina

in this research the utilization of acacia wood (acacia salicina) in medium density fiber board production was investigated. sample boards were made from acacia fibers at two resin contents (10, 12%), two press temperatures (175, 185 ˚c) and three press times(3, 4, 5 min). the results were analyzed based on a complete randomized design (crd) under a factorial experiment. results revealed that i...

properties of medium density fiberboard made from wet and dry stored bagasse

medium density fiberboard (mdf) was produced using moist depithed bagasse stored dry or wet. the duration of storage for either method varied between 0 to 4 months. two steaming temperatures of 175c and 185c were also used. mdf boards were produced in the laboratory and the common mechanical and physical properties were measured and compared. results showed that an increased steaming temperat...
